| What is TORSA |
| Taiwan Ocean Recreation Sports Association, TORSA, was formed in 2006 as a non- profit association to promote the awareness of ocean recreational sports, the environment and physical well being to the people of Taiwan, in particular the younger generation. By co-operation with Government and local schools TORSA have aimed to educate people to develop a long term relationship for both the environment and the ocean and in particular surfing in its many forms. TORSA have established regular surf training camps and local competitions to recognizable world accepted standards ASP, JASP, ISA and promoted local surfer participation in overseas surf contests to establish our presence on the world stage. TORSA are now through the use of visual and recorded forms creating a record of the history of surf culture and sub cultures in Taiwan. By the use of video, photography, music, paintings and the written word a permanent record will be created. |
